Today I'm very excited to announce my new hobby project: Heresy Era Iron Warriors! I picked up a copy of Betrayal at Calth a while ago, and with the recent release of Burning of Prospero and the growing popularity of 30k in my area, I've finally decided to take the plunge and collect a small force of Legiones Astartes.

Time for my 1500 pts Imperial Knights list's final battle of the tournament. Round three saw me facing a very nicely converted and painted Thousand Sons list that were taking advantage of their brand-new rules for the first time. The mission was a straightforward as it gets: good old Seize Ground.

Round two! After being annihilated by Tau in round one, my second game saw my 1500 pts Imperial Knights list matched against a Necron Decurion in a progressively-scored table quarters mission.

As the end of the year approaches, I have received an invitation to the annual championship tournament in my area. It is a 1500 pts event with minimal list restrictions (just no Unbound) but using a custom set of not particularly well-designed missions. I have decided to take a triple-Knight list with a handful of Astra Militarum in support; here is how I have designed my list.

Hi everyone, today Elite 40,000 ticked over the 400,000 page view milestone after just over two years. I know that's not a big deal for most of the internet, but for a personal hobby blog I'm amazed at how wide its readership has grown.

I hope to have more time for blogging over the holiday season and I'm keen to hear from you about what sort of content you'd most like to see. Please leave a comment or email me at elite40k@hotmail.com and tell me what you want.

Alright, time for round two! After my Astra Militarum performed well against Ravenwing but lost the mathematically-unwinnable mission, I was matched against another aggressive marine list, this time of the Blood Angel variety.

I recently took my Astra Militarum to a three-round, 1500 pts casual event. The event organisers had requested that players bring moderate-strength lists only, so I built a full 1500 pts of Astra without a Knight; and it seems like great minds think alike, because there were no Knights to be seen at the event and more Astra lists than I had ever seen before!
